Newshub18 :Will Joe Biden show the courage to face the initial challenge of 2024?
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (D) said Wednesday that President Biden could see a preliminary challenge if he wants to run for re-election in 2024Pritzker commented in an interview with NBC News, saying he would not support an initial challenge, but one could happen.
Biden is on his way to a tug-of-war at the White House Fispars that he will not be able to run for a second term in 2024.
“Joe Biden is running for re-election, and I’ll be his ticket partner,” Harris told CNN earlier this week. “Beard.” (He later corrected his remarks by saying that Biden “wanted to run”))
So let’s take Biden to his word: he’s in the 2024 race. Even if we do, there is another question that is widely discussed: will Biden face the initial challenge? “It’s not something I’m encouraging, but it’s certainly possible,” Illinois Governor JB Pritzker said earlier this week. “We’ve seen it in the past.”
Which is a funny thing! Especially when Pritzker was speaking at the New Hampshire Democratic Convention earlier this month.
Right? That’s right!
Now, before I go any further, it’s important to make a distinction here between making a serious and credible initial challenge to Biden and deciding to run to drive an issue (or ourselves) in the national media limelight.
The latter can happen comparatively – a kind of shoe candidacy that never threatens Biden or even attracts his attention in a meaningful way.
The former is rare – despite Pritzker’s comments.
In 1980, when a Democratic president was seriously challenged to nominate his party, in 1980, when responsible Jimmy Carter had to face a challenge from Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy.
Carter won that primary for a short time, but the damage it caused did not play a small role in his blowout rate in Ronald Reagan’s general election.
Yes, there are comparisons between Carter and Biden – at least at this stage of his presidency. Both men have used economic stimulus to reduce unemployment and revive the flagship economy. And both have had to deal with inflation as a result. No man was terribly popular with ordinary voters (or, not in Biden’s case). And their liberal party bases didn’t (and didn’t) catch their eye.But there is a reason that for more than 40 years a democratic president (or, indeed, any president) has faced a serious initial challenge: power is a powerful thing – especially in this age of billion-dollar propaganda and endless politics.
It is very difficult to defeat a responsible person – even a loser like Carter or Biden.
“With all this, Pritzker represents a unique challenge for Biden if he decides to runHis family owns the Hyatt hotel chain and its estimated total value of $ 3 billion, which means that if Pritzker wants to fight Biden in 2024, he will not lose for lack of funds. “
