Newshub18 :Why the world is sniffing at us: the top leader of the Taliban?
Haibatullah Akhundzada, the group’s supreme leader, visited the capital Kabul for the first time since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan in August last year. He addressed a rally there on Friday. “Why is the world sniffing at us (the Taliban government)?”
A three-day rally was held at Kabul Polytechnic University, Al Jazeera reported. Religious leaders and high-ranking officials from Afghanistan took part there. The rally began last Thursday. It is expected that a total of 3,000 people will take part in the rally.
Akhundzada joined the rally on Friday. His speech was broadcast on a government radio station in Afghanistan. In addition, the country’s official news agency ‘Bakhtar’ has published a report on the speech.
According to Bakhtar, the top Taliban leader said, “Why is the world sniffing at us? They say, “Why don’t you do it? Why don’t you do it?” Why is the world interfering in our work? ‘
At the rally, Akhundzada prayed for casualties in last month’s devastating earthquake in Afghanistan. He praised the Taliban for seizing power in Afghanistan at the time, saying it was a matter of pride not only for Afghanistan but also for Muslims around the world.
The Taliban leader’s speech raised the issue of the ongoing controversy surrounding the Taliban’s treatment of women. “We are an independent country now,” he said. Foreigners cannot instruct us. This is our state system. And we have our own decisions. ‘
Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s deputy chief and acting interior minister in the current Afghan government, also addressed the rally on Friday. He said the world has demanded inclusive government and education in Afghanistan. However, these issues need time to be considered
