US test-fires ballistic missile after two suspensions

Newshub18 :US test-fires ballistic missile after two suspensions.

The US claims to have successfully tested a long-range nuclear-capable ballistic missile. News from AFP.
The test was conducted on Tuesday, the US Air Force said. The test was postponed twice earlier to avoid further escalation of tensions over the Ukraine war as well as the Taiwan issue.
The US Air Force Global Strike Command test-fired the Minuteman 3 intercontinental ballistic missile over the Pacific Ocean from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on Tuesday.

The missile had an experimental ‘re-entry vehicle’. These re-entry vehicles can be armed with nuclear weapons during tactical warfare. The re-entry vehicle has covered approximately 4,200 miles.
The US Air Force said in a statement that the test was part of routine and periodic operations. The purpose of the test is to demonstrate that US nuclear weapons are safe, reliable and effective.
The statement also said that such tests have been conducted more than three hundred times in the past. This test has nothing to do with the current events of the world.

Originally, this test was supposed to be conducted last March. Before that, Russia started a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. In such a context, the test of the missile was suspended in order not to increase the tension.
It was later decided to test-fire the missile in August. But US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan in early August. In response to his visit, China began large-scale military exercises around the autonomous region. In order not to increase the tension in this situation, the test of the missile was suspended again
