At least 16 bodies have been recovered from a nightclub in the South African city of East London. The BBC quoted local media as saying.
The bodies were recovered from a nightclub called Iniobeni Taveron on Sunday morning. In addition, several people have been reported injuredA police spokesman told Newsroom Africa TV: “The area around the nightclub is under investigation. Because we are talking to everyone. ‘
“At this stage (of the investigation) we do not want to spread any rumors,” police spokesman Brigadier Tembinikosi Kinana was quoted as saying by the BBC.
Many members of the country’s emergency services have been deployed to the nightclub in East London, in the southern province of South Cape, according to the report.

“There have been allegations of trampling inside the tavern (nightclub),” said Nomthethleli Lillian, the provincial police commissioner for the Eastern Cape.
