Newshub18,Sk Jahangir Ali: State Minister Pradeep Majumder attended the centenary celebration of the primary school.A remote village of Jamalpur in East Burdwan 32 Bigha. There is a primary school in this village. The school which looks like it has crossed the centenary mark today. This school was established on 30th October 1920. Although the centenary passed two years ago, no centenary ceremony could be held due to Corona. So in the year 2022, the school and all the villagers celebrated the centenary program of the school with great grandeur. Pradeep Majumder, Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development Department of West Bengal Government attended the event today.

Apart from him, the president of East Burdwan Zilla Parishad and Raina’s executor Shampadhara, Jamalpur MLA Alak Kumar Majhi, Jamalpur Panchayat Samiti President Mehmud Khan, Jamalpur BDO Shubhankar Majumdar, Jamalpur 1 Panchayat Chief Dolly Nandi, Deputy Chief Sahabuddin Mandal, were also present as special guestsLocal dignitaries including school headmaster Bappaditya Mukherjee.

An auspicious start to the program was held in the morning with a colorful Prabhat Feri. Many villagers join this morning ferry. Later the school flag was hoisted. State Minister Pradeep Majumdar came here for the next phase of the ceremony. The attending guests were received by the school and a memento was presented as a token of appreciation. State Minister Pradeep Majumder and the guests present started the program by lighting the lamp. On the occasion of the 100 year anniversary, a commemorative Caltan was released by the school. Which is revealed by the hands of the ministers and the guests present. State minister Pradeep Babu said he felt very honored to be present at the centenary ceremony of a primary school in a remote village.

He highlighted the traditions of East Burdwan district through his speech. In this context, he named revolutionaries Ravihari Bose, Rasbihari Ghosh. Coming to the function of the school, he gave an account of what the state government has done for education since coming to power in 2011 till date. 350 colleges, one university in each district and 21 lakh classrooms have been created. The state government has allocated Tk 9487 crore for the education sector in the academic year 2021 and 2022. He highlighted all the schemes including the provision of scholarships for poor but meritorious students, State Government’s Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, Sabuj Sathi Cycle, Shikshashree, Kanyashree, Student Credit Card. Not only that, he also reviewed what the current state government has done in rural development.

1 lakh 03 thousand km of roads have been constructed in these 11 years. Lakshmi Bhandar for self completion of village women, Krishak Bandhu scheme for farmers which today has been increased to 10 thousand by Chief Minister. Shampa Dhara said in his speech that the state government has made a lot of progress in school education. From clothes, shoes to books, everything is being given to the students. And the benefits of the Kanyashree project are being realized today.

If you look at the secondary – higher secondary examination, you can understand how the number of girls is increasing. Alok Majhi said it is a matter of great pride that a school in the village has done so after 100 years. All the people of the area and former students should come forward and take responsibility for good and bad in this school. After the Trinamool government came to power in West Bengal, the infrastructure of schools has changed. Mehmood Khan said that he himself is an alumnus of this school and he is thrilled to think that his school has passed 100 years. He thanked Minister Pradeep Majumdar that this was the first time a minister set foot on 32 bighas. Panchayat Samiti President Mehmood Khan supervised the entire event. In this centenary event, there are various competitions including drawing, quiz, recitation. There are cultural events. Drama will be staged. This event will last for two days. Surman Ali Mallik is in charge of the cultural program. Shyamaprasad Chowdhury and Sheikh Jahangir conducted the entire program beautifully
