Saudi Arabia and Israel have held secret meetings to strengthen their integrated defense against Iran. Top military officials from the two countries attended the US-brokered meeting in March this year. The two countries have united to stop Iran, which is becoming stronger in military capabilities day by day.
The information came in a report in the Wall Street Journal on Sunday. The Guardian, a UK media outlet, published a report on Monday.

The secret meeting was held in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, the report said. There, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) met with representatives from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan and Egypt. The United States was represented by General Frank McKenzie, the head of the country’s Central Command.
Iran’s missile and drone capabilities are increasing day by day. Israel and like-minded Arab countries have a headache with this. For the first time, Israel hosted a major meeting with Arab countries to deal with such a situation.
In August 2020, Israel signed an agreement called the Abraham Accords to formalize relations with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan, mediated by then-US President Donald Trump. Since then, Tel Aviv has been strengthening ties with the countries.
However, Israel has no formal diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia and Qatar. But it is believed that there is secret communication between the two countries. Experts believe that Saudi Arabia and Israel have gone further in building formal relations through that meeting in March.

But Saudi Arabia has insisted from the outset that it did not have relations with Israel before Palestine was established as an independent state. The country will not be recognized before that.
US President Joe Biden plans to visit Israel and Saudi Arabia in the middle of next month. During the visit, he is expected to announce the development of relations between the two countries.
