Newshub18 :Nunez apologized for the scandal.
Liverpool have not had a good start in this season’s Premier League. Liverpool have avoided defeat in the first two matches. After a 2-2 draw against Fulham in the first match, a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace in the second match. But Liverpool’s concern is not so much about losing points in the Palace match, but more about their 788 million rupees footballer Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan striker, who was brought in from Benfica for so much money to score goals, caused scandal in the Palace-match by tripping an opponent player and seeing a red card.
Nunez suddenly lost his temper in the second half of the match against Crystal Palace. Liverpool were still trailing 1-0. Palace defender Joachim Andersen teased Núñez a bit. But who would have thought that the Uruguayan striker would get excited and headbutt Andersen. He has to see the red card directly. Coach Jurgen Klopp is very upset with Nunez. He directly said after the match that day, any player should understand the situation and work. He called Anderson’s headbutt a ‘misreaction’.
Now this ‘wrong reaction’ is burning Nunez. He will not be able to play Liverpool’s next three matches after seeing a red card against Palace. This is a serious loss for the team. Liverpool’s next match is against Manchester United on August 22. The next two matches are against Bournemouth and Newcastle United. After dropping points in the first two matches, Liverpool will surely be thinking of nothing but victory against United. Nunez’s red card therefore comes as a major blow to Klopp’s plans.
Nunez realizes what he did against Palace was wrong. On Twitter, he wrote to Liverpool supporters, “I know I did the wrong thing. I have learned from this mistake, nothing like this will happen again in the future, I promise everyone.
At the end of the match, coach Klopp also told Nunez to learn from his mistakes, “Hopefully, he will learn from his mistakes.” He won’t be able to play a few matches, he is getting time and opportunity to make mistakes. It’s not good for the team, because we won’t get him in these matches.
