However, former Indian legendary cricketer Kapil Dev sees the whole incident in a different way. He felt that neither Virat Kohli himself rested nor the selectors gave him rest. In fact, Virat Kohli has been cut from the team due to off-form. Earlier, the World Cup-winning captain had commented on whether Virat Kohli should be dropped from the T20 team. There is no doubt that this new comment of his will create a new controversy.
Kapil Dev said, “I understand the task was not easy for the selectors. Virat Kohli is the biggest name in Indian cricket right now. The announcement that he was being dropped from the team could have caused a huge backlash. Rather, the idea that it has been rested helps reduce controversy.” However, Indian captain Rohit Sharma Virat Kohli himself has not commented on this idea of Kapil Dev.

In this context, Sarandeep Singh said, “I understand Ma what is the meaning of sudden rest at this moment. If one does a hundred then it may be time to give him rest. Had he played for three to four months in a row and scored 4 to 5 centuries, Virat Kohli’s request for rest would have been granted. And in that situation he could have asked for rest”.
After the IPL, the board decided to rest the experienced cricketers of the Indian team. He did not play against South Africa. Virat Kohli returned in the Test match against England. But he failed in that match as well. Virat Kohli scored only 31 runs in two innings. Virat Kohli managed to score 11 runs in the first innings. The former India captain returned to Sajghar with just 20 runs in the second innings.
He was also a final failure on the stage of IPL this time. Sarandeep Singh cannot support the decision to rest Virat Kohli again in that situation. According to him, Virat Kohli’s return to form can never depend on rest.
