Iran’s state shipping company and a port official have said that the new commercial corridor has begun the experimental delivery of Russian goods to India through Iran. News Bloomberg.
The Russian cargo carries two 40-foot wooden laminate sheet containers weighing 41 tons. The cargo left St. Petersburg for the Caspian Sea port city of Astrakhan, the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported on Saturday.
The report did not say when the cargo was released or the details of the shipment.
From Astrakhan, the cargo will cross the Caspian Sea to the port of Anjali in northern Iran. From there the goods will be transported by road to the southern port of Bandar Abbas in the Persian Gulf. From there, the goods will be shipped to the Indian port of Nava Sheva, according to an Iranian media report.
