Newshub18 :Google doesn’t know 35 Play Store apps are injecting malware.
35 apps capable of introducing malware into smartphones have been found in the Play Store. As soon as the apps are downloaded, the advertisements of various companies start spreading on the smartphone. By clicking on these ads, the malware enters the user’s smartphone. A group of researchers from cyber security company Bitdefender found these harmful apps.
Apps that bypassed Google’s security measures and made it to the Play Store have been downloaded around 20 million times worldwide. Therefore, cyber security experts have advised users to quickly delete the apps from their smartphones. Bitdefender researchers claim that Google has been warned about apps capable of introducing malware into the Play Store, but no action has been taken. Even the company did not reply to the messages.
Cyber security experts said that developers should check online before downloading apps to protect themselves from malicious apps. Know the experience of other users about the app. Avoid downloading apps by clicking on unknown links found online.
Malware (Malware) is the short form of ‘Malicious Software’ ‘Malicious’ means malicious or harmful. That is, ‘Malicious Software’ is malicious or harmful software. which damages your device.
Malware is a type of software program that can continue to operate on your computer, mobile or other device without your permission. Those activities may steal your confidential information, monitor you, reduce the performance of your device or damage all important data on your device. Malware in simple words is harmful software.
Types of Malware
Malware is basically of different types However, the most common malwares we encounter are viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, worms, etc. These are briefly discussed below –
Viruses basically stay paralyzed on your device. When you run an infected program, it will become active and start working on its own. It essentially duplicates itself and can render other data on the device useless.
Trojans can basically enter your computer by masquerading as other programs. This is a type of malware, which will present itself to you in a highly functional, organized and attractive manner. And you will be satisfied and install the program. These trojan malwares are able to delete, edit, modify the data on your device. It even has the ability to steal all passwords stored in your browser.
Ransomware is a type of malware virus that attacks your computer device and encrypts all the files on the computer’s hard drive. In most cases, this malware will lock all the files on your computer with a key so large that it will be technically impossible to unlock it. By doing this you will no longer be able to access your files. If you want to access those files then you have to ransom the hacker and get the key.
Once this malware gets into your device, it will continue to multiply itself on your device. That means thousands of files will be created by copying your data. As a result your device will become slow.
Its main function is to monitor you and deliver all your confidential information to the hacker.
How malware can get into your device –
Malware can enter our devices in various ways. But we ourselves are the main role behind all this Because of our carelessness, malware can enter our devices. Let’s find out the ways to get malware into the device –
1. Neglecting software and system updates:
Every software or system has some kind of error or bug which makes it easy for hackers to attack any device But from time to time the developers of the software or system try to solve those errors or bugs through security updates. Therefore, if you do not update your software or system after every update, then hackers use the errors or bugs in that software/system to damage your device by inserting malware.
2. Opening a mail or file from an unknown source:
Various types of mails are constantly coming from different places And we also open the mail without understanding or listening. Or if someone gives a link/file, I open that link/file without checking anything The link/file may be crafted in such a way that the malware will automatically install itself on your device as soon as it is opened.
3. Using Cracked Software:
One of the reasons for getting attacked by malware is because of using this cracked software for free Most of us download all the required software for free from various unofficial sources on the internet The problem is there! Whenever we download any software from there, different types of malware come to our devices with it. Which makes us suffer to an extreme degree.
What to do to avoid malware
Malware is indeed a fear factor these days From big tech companies to small companies, even personal computers and smartphones are not safe from malware attacks. But yes, no malware or hacker can harm our device or data as long as we are aware.
1. First of all keep your device operating system updated In this he can protect himself In this case it is very important to keep auto-update on.
2. Using security software to prevent malware is also very important Although currently Windows’ own security software ‘Windows Defender’ is used. And currently it is quite a powerful security software. Still you can use any of the security software like Eset, Norton, Kaspersky for extra protection.
3. Awareness is the prerequisite for prevention. If we are always vigilant and have a good understanding of cyber security and malware, the chances of falling into the trap of hackers are greatly reduced. Special care should be taken while opening any link, file or mail. Also take note of when and where you are logging in with your email and password.
