Newshub18 :3 killed, 6 injured in knife attack at kindergarten in China
Three people were killed and six others injured in a knife attack at a kindergarten in China’s southeastern Jiangxi province, local police said.
According to the report of AFP, the police statement said that around 10 a.m. local time today, a gangster wearing a hat and mask attacked a private kindergarten in Jiangxi’s Anfu County. The suspected attacker is still at large. He is 48 years old.
The police statement also said, “Public safety agencies are making all efforts to apprehend the fugitive suspected attacker.”
A video published by China’s state-run Beijing Daily shows a police officer walking towards an ambulance with a small child on his shoulder.
However, the ages of the victims in the kindergarten stabbing are not yet known.
Such violence does not usually occur in China. Possession of firearms by citizens of the country is strictly prohibited. However, there have been several knife attacks in the country in recent times. Many people lost their lives in these attacks.
Fatal attacks, especially targeting kindergartens and schoolchildren, are becoming increasingly common across China.
Due to the increase in such attacks, the authorities have strengthened security. Apart from this, research is being called to uncover the root causes of this type of violence.
Last April, a man entered a kindergarten in southern China and attacked with a knife. Two children lost their lives in the attack. Another 16 children were injured
